A rechargeable battery must simply be connected to the terminals battery (B+ / B-) in order to enable an uninterruptible UPS function. The power supplys loading branch is controlled separately. The defined bridging time determines the battery size. For example: You have a consumer load current of 2 A and want to supply current to consumers for a further 30 minutes in the case of a power outage. 2 A x 0.5 h results in a battery capacity of 1 Ah. However, as the rechargeable battery may not be completely discharged, or this cannot take place because the deep discharge protection integrated in the AD-power supplies activates beforehand, this computed value must be multiplied by a factor of two. This means you require a rechargeable battery of at least 2 Ah.
